I’m Marian Mateos, a family photographer based in Jerez de la Frontera with more than 20 years dedicated to capturing real stories. My work is born from the desire to preserve bonds: laughs, hugs and small complicities that often go unnoticed in daily life. My style is primarily documentary — I seek naturalness and spontaneity — while keeping an aesthetic, careful eye that turns each session into a memory that feels authentic and meaningful. Why trust me with your family session? Because I combine technical expertise (I hold a Higher Technical Degree in Image and Sound) with a warm, calm approach. I describe myself as shy off-camera, but when I pick up the camera I change: I observe, wait for the right moment and shoot without forcing it. In the studio or outdoors, I create a relaxed atmosphere where both adults and children can be themselves. I’m approachable, humble and meticulous; I take care of the light, the composition and, above all, the emotion behind every gesture. How I work: we start with a conversation to get to know one another and define what you want to remember — a walk through your favorite part of Jerez, an afternoon at home, or an outdoor session that reflects your routine and affection. The aim is to create a pressure-free experience designed for the family to enjoy and for children to express themselves naturally. During the session I move discreetly: “I’m there but not there” is my mantra; this way I capture genuine looks and smiles without interrupting the family dynamic. After the session I carefully select and edit each image, seeking a clean, timeless finish that preserves the truth of the moment. I strive to deliver the work promptly without sacrificing quality, because I know how important it is to relive those memories as soon as possible.
