I’m Joan Manuel, a photographer based in Ingenio (Carrizal) specializing in family photography. For me, photography is the most sincere way to preserve a moment: my single aim is to capture the moment… the instant… so that when you look back at those images you feel the emotion come alive again. My training with a Higher Technical Diploma (CFGS) in Artistic Photography gave me technical and conceptual tools, but it is my personal experience —being a father— that taught me the true value of every family memory. I define my work by a natural, close style: I seek spontaneity, genuine laughter and the small gestures that often go unnoticed. I work both in my studio in Carrizal and on location across Gran Canaria; I love working with natural light and the island’s landscapes to create bright, characterful images. Outdoors I especially enjoy shooting at the Jardín Canario, beaches like El Confital, and the dunes and vistas of Maspalomas, always adapting the location to each family’s character and pace. My process is simple and calm: before the session I talk with you to learn your tastes and needs, we coordinate style and outfits, and we schedule the day so the experience is comfortable (especially when there are babies or young children). In the studio I provide a relaxed, safe atmosphere; on location I prioritize safety and natural moments. I adapt to families with newborns, children’s sessions, and family celebrations you want to remember with affection. Why tell me your story?
