I’m Mirka, the creator of Alma de Luz, and I specialise in family photography based in Santa Lucía, Gran Canaria. My work focuses on capturing the truth of your relationships: the small gestures, looks and laughter that form a family’s story. As a family photographer, my priority is to create a safe, relaxed space where everyone — parents, carers, children and babies — can be themselves. My approach is natural and connected. I don’t believe in stiff poses; I prefer spontaneity and calm. I guide gently, encourage moments of play and closeness, and let the available light — from beaches, dunes, familiar corners or the light in your home — enhance the authenticity of each scene. Sessions are collaborative and unhurried: this atmosphere of trust helps even those who feel less comfortable in front of the camera to relax and shine. I work with families and children of all ages, and I love documenting short but luminous stages — from the first months to the curious, busy years that follow — with tenderness and respect. I moved here from Finland, and the island inspires me every day: its golden light and wide landscapes help me create portraits that feel both intimate and timeless.
