We are Irene and Juan, and at Juan de Ávila Photography we have made family photography our specialty. Our working method is born from a passion for storytelling through images: we look for that natural light, those sincere gestures and the small everyday scenes that turn a session into an unforgettable memory. How we work: we begin with a pre-session conversation to learn about your expectations, favorite locations and the type of images you want to keep. Sessions can take place outdoors — making the most of sunsets and warm light corners — or in our studio, depending on the family’s energy and the idea behind the shoot. For children’s and newborn sessions we are especially mindful of rhythm: in our newborn shoots we follow a calm tempo (the baby sets the pace), use soft light and take the necessary breaks so everything is comfortable and safe. Our stylistic approach blends portrait and documentary: carefully crafted portraits that reveal the essence of each family member alongside spontaneous photos that narrate everyday life. In addition to family sessions, we offer children’s reporting, cake smash for first birthdays and newborn photography, always adapting our work to the personality and needs of each family.
