Concha Ortega Fotografía

I’m Concha Ortega, a photographer based in Soria specializing in family photography. My work is focused on telling each family’s story with sincere, spontaneous images: maternity sessions, newborn photos, baby and children portraits. As an author-photographer I’m interested in capturing bonds and the small everyday scenes that turn a moment into a lasting memory. My approach is documentary and relaxed: I favour natural moments over forced poses. I work frequently outdoors —or in your home if you prefer— so that children feel comfortable and the necessary complicity can emerge. Sessions usually last between one and a half and two hours: enough time to create an atmosphere, help everyone relax and obtain a variety of authentic images. Why trust my family sessions? I come from a photojournalism background and that experience taught me to observe, wait and catch emotion at the decisive moment. I have been recognised with awards such as the COSSIO Press Photography Award and have attended workshops with international photographers; all of this translates into a refined visual eye and a professional, sensitive approach to working with families. How I work: before the session we talk about what you want —locations, clothing, times— and I give guidance to get the most out of a shoot with children or newborns. During the session I aim to create a relaxed, joyful environment so natural interactions come forward. I deliver the material in high quality: for family sessions I provide a DVD with the best images without watermarks, and if you’d like albums or photobooks we work together on selection and layout so the result is coherent and emotionally resonant. I travel throughout Soria and the surrounding area and I welcome families who are looking for thoughtful, distinctive images with an author’s vision.
