Mamatriu

I’m Laura, the person behind Mamatriu. As a family photographer based in the Sagrada Família area of Barcelona, my work springs from everyday life: I’m interested in photographing life as it happens, without artifice or staged aesthetics that distort it. I work from closeness and observation to create images that are not only beautiful but serve as emotional witnesses to your story. My approach is documentary and affectionate. I look for natural light, sincere gestures and the silences that speak as loudly as smiles. In a family session I adapt to the rhythm of children, older relatives and those who have just become a family: I make sure the atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried so everything can flow and authenticity can emerge. This allows the photographs to convey intimacy and honesty, and over time to become pieces of your family’s visual memory. I work both in your home and in outdoor locations that feel special to you. Choosing the place is part of the process: if you’re not sure where to go, I suggest charming corners around Barcelona that encourage natural moments. Before the session we talk about what you’d like, small ideas or details you want to preserve — and we build the session from there. My role is to accompany, observe and shoot with attention to capture those everyday instants that later become unforgettable. Beyond family sessions, documenting the arrival of a baby and the first bonds (breastfeeding, postpartum, moments with siblings) is part of my perspective on motherhood and family life.
