I’m Déborah Torres and my approach to family photography grows from everyday life: the laughter in the sand, the spontaneous hugs and those little routines that, over time, become the most treasured things. As a family photographer in Nigrán I focus on reportage-style family sessions that avoid posed, artificial moments; my aim is that when you look at the photos you recognise yourselves exactly as you are. I work from a place of closeness and calm. Before the session we talk to get to know one another, choose a location that feels comfortable and adapt the plan to your pace: an afternoon on the beach, a walk in the woods or a meaningful corner of your home. I’m interested in real connection rather than forced smiles: I observe, accompany and capture the instants when you forget the camera and are simply together. My style is especially suited to families with young children, newborns and babies, and to capturing family moments such as baptisms, communions or intimate birthdays. In every session I search for tenderness and spontaneity: entwined hands, games that end in peals of laughter, looks that say more than words. For families who often stay behind the lens, my priority is that mothers and fathers also become part of their own visual story. I use natural light and the local settings of the area (Nigrán, Vigo and O Val Miñor) so that each image carries a sense of place.
