At Mi Pequeña Luz, behind the camera is me, Judith Martín Salguero: a mother and a dedicated family photographer based in Leganés and the southern Madrid area. My approach is born from both personal and professional experience: years in fashion and advertising gave me technical skills, but it was families and my own daughters who taught me the real purpose of my work—capturing the everyday magic that brings people together. I specialize in family photography because I believe these are the images future generations value most: honest photographs where you recognise looks, knowing gestures and small stories that would otherwise fade. I work to keep things natural: I don’t force poses, but create a relaxed, close atmosphere so play, laughter and real connections can unfold. My method is simple and humane. Before the session we talk to get to know each other and adapt the space and flow to your family. During the shoot I act as both accomplice and guide: I blend gentle direction with a documentary tempo to catch spontaneous moments—glances, hugs, laughter—and quieter portraits that highlight each person’s personality. I have experience with studio sessions, outdoor shoots and at-home sessions, always prioritizing the comfort of children and the calm needed for newborns. I value patience and empathy: I know how to connect with little ones, build trust and turn the session into a pleasant memory for everyone. My style combines portrait sensitivity with the naturalness of reportage; I look for warm light, soft colours and compositions that speak of affection and closeness.
