I’m Carol Renaux and my photographic eye is devoted to families. Based in Retiro, I specialize in family photography with sessions designed to reflect life as it really is: sometimes messy, sometimes quiet, always full of love. For me, photographs are little time capsules — years from now, I want you to feel again the warmth, the laughter and the gestures that pass so quickly today. My approach is emotional and natural. I favor natural light, minimal direction and candid poses that arise from play and trust. I work both outdoors (I know many lovely locations near Madrid) and at your home, depending on what makes you feel most comfortable. I often schedule family sessions at sunset to take advantage of warm, enveloping light, but I adapt time and place to your routine and needs. As a family photographer I focus on creating a relaxed, intimate atmosphere: I observe, suggest simple games and situations, and capture spontaneity. This approach works especially well with babies and children — my experience helps me find those true moments: first steps, hugs, tickles, looks — without forcing smiles. I also photograph special family events such as baptisms, communions or birthdays; these are perfect occasions to document your family story with respect and elegance. My process is personal: before the session we talk to get to know each other, understand what you want to keep and what makes you unique. During the session I know when to be unobtrusive and when to gently guide; afterwards I carefully select and edit the images to offer a coherent, tender and honest collection.
